10:30-11:10 4-5 yr. girls dance & tumble
Dance and tumbling classes are offered at 1st Baptist child development center during the morning hours. Taking dance and acrobatics at school is a great opportunity for children and their families. It allows the students to participate in a full-scale tumbling and dance class with an end of the year program without tying up their evening time with their family.
Students who enroll in the dance and tumbling program will be taken to a separate classroom in the building to take their class. They do not leave the building and are not transported to a different location. Classes are 45 minutes in length. At the end of class, each student receives a reward for their hard work (sticker, cookie, stamp, etc.). They are then taken back to their classroom to resume their regular activities. Students look forward to their class day as it offers a change in their routine. Their classroom teachers are great about planning activities around the classes so they are not missing out on anything while they are gone to tumbling or dance.
Enrollment is taken for the fall program throughout the months of July and August. New students who join the day care late in the school year may enroll through November. No new students may be added after November as it would hinder the progression of the current students. Summer enrollment is taken throughout the month of May. Summer program runs June – August. Students may enroll online or by completing a form that is available at the daycare during the months of enrollment (August for fall or May for summer).
Pictures are updated frequently so parents can see what the students are working on in class. What an awesome opportunity… your child can participate in a tumbling or dance class with their friends at school while you keep up with their progress online! Children love to go to class with their school friends, therefore eliminating the clinging and/or crying that often occurs with little ones at an afternoon or evening class. Our classes offer a great foundation of skills just for pre-school age children!
***Dance/Tumbling combo is offered for girls ages 2 – 5 years old. Girls will work on increasing their flexibility, balance, coordination, and rhythm while dancing and tumbling to music they love! Ballet and jazz fundamentals are included in the dance portion of the class. Basic tumbling skills such as rolls and cartwheels are included in the tumbling portion of the class.
***For boys ages 2 – 5 years old we have our “Tuff Tumblers” class. Boys will focus on increasing their strength, balance, coordination, and tumbling skills during their time in class. The class is designed just for boys. Music, stretching, and tumbling are all designed just for our “tuff tumblers”. Tumbling class is a great way for boys to express themselves and burn energy while at school.
End of year program – May, Rainey Fine Arts Center at Anderson University
*Each student receives a trophy for participating.
*No door admission for friends and family.
*Flowers and balloons are available for purchase at the door.
*Students must ben enrolled in First Baptist Child Development Center to participate in classes at this location.
*$25 recital fee per family due by March 1st.
